The Super Eagles have officially opened camp in England ahead of their highly anticipated Unity Cup clash against Ghana, with 22 players already in attendance.
The friendly match, aimed at promoting unity through football, will take place at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford on Wednesday, May 28. It is expected to reignite the long-standing rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana.
Among the early arrivals in camp are captain Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Semi Ajayi, Cyriel Dessers, and Samuel Chukwueze. Others include Nathan Tella, Felix Agu, Igho Ogbu, Bruno Onyemaechi, Junior Nduka, Sadiq Ismaila, Waliu Ojetoye, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Papa Mustapha, Saviour Isaac, Collins Ogwueze, Sikiru Alimi, Abubakar Adamu, and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
Four more players—Maduka Okoye, Amas Obasogie, Chrisantus Uche, and Tolu Arokodare—were expected to join the team by Monday night to complete the squad.
The coaching crew is optimistic that the full team will be in place for final preparations before the showdown with Ghana. The Unity Cup has been billed as more than just a football match—it aims to foster peace and brotherhood across the West African region.
The match is also being closely watched as an opportunity for some fringe players to prove themselves ahead of the next round of international competitions.
