IBD Foundation Visits Correctional Centre, Donates Food Items, Secures Freedom for Six Inmates

As part of its commitment to philanthropy and its usual humanitarian service, IBD Foundation has facilitated the release of six prison inmates serving various jail terms at the correctional centre in Ilaro, Ogun State.

The foundation equally donated food items comprises of Rice, Beans, milk and among other items.

The NGO also visited school for children with special needs in Ilaro, with different food items such as Rice, Beans, Bournvita, Milk amongst others in the spirit of Ramadan and its usual humanitarian outreach.

Speaking at the correctional center, Mrs Omolara Egungbohun said the had been coming yearly to support the inmates with different food items and to also counsel them.

Mrs Egungbohun said the reason for supporting the release of some of the inmates who are to pay fine to secure the release, because majority of them have been forgotten by their family, friends and relations.

She said “I believe doing this will keep their hope alive and happy despite serving their terms at the correctional centre, I’m sure majority of them have learned in the prison and I believe they wouldn’t go back to the crime again”

In another development, the Staff & Learners, School for Children with Special Needs, also extended their appreciation to IBD Foundation for bringing hope, joy and opportunities to the children of special needs.

In their appreciation note which read in “on behalf of the staff and learners of the School for Children with Special Needs, Ilaro, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to IB Foundation, its esteemed CEO, Chief Mrs. Omolara Egungbohun, and Alhaji Ibrahim Egungbohun (Dende) for their immense support and generosity.”
