Super Falcons’ Rinsola Babajide Joins AS Roma From Tenerife

Super Falcons winger, Rinsola Babajide, has officially signed with Italian Serie A Women’s side, AS Roma, following her departure from Spanish club Costa Adeje Tenerife (CD Tenerife Femenino).
The club announced the Nigerian international’s arrival in an official statement on Monday, confirming that Babajide has signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2027.
“AS Roma are delighted to announce the signing of Omorinsola Omowunmi Ajike Babajide, known as Rinsola Babajide,” the statement read.
The 27-year-old forward brings with her a rich playing history, having featured for several English clubs including Millwall, Watford, Liverpool, and Brighton & Hove Albion. She also played in Spain with Real Betis before moving to Tenerife.
Reacting to her transfer, Babajide expressed excitement about joining the Italian giants:
“It’s an honour, to be honest. It’s a Champions League club, a prestigious club as well, so I’m very happy to be here.”
She noted her admiration for the style of play in Serie A:
“I feel like it’s similar to the Spanish league—everyone’s technical. It’s a competitive league as well, so I can’t wait to get started.”
On her ambitions at Roma, she added:
“Just being in Rome alone is precious. It’s an amazing experience. Even with the team, gelling well with the girls, securing the Champions League spot, trying to win as much silverware as possible in the league and cup games.”
Describing her playing style, Babajide said:
“I’m more of a direct, speedy, technical player down the wing. I love to beat players 1v1, cross the ball in, as well as get shots and goals.”
She is set to reunite with fellow Super Falcons star Shukurat Oladipo, who joined Roma earlier in February.
Babajide concluded by stating her team and personal goals:
“Winning silverware—that’s the most important thing for the team. Personally, I want to contribute toward the team and do better than I did last season.”
