Transfer: Atalanta Boss Juric Says Lookman Misguided By Bad Advice In Failed Inter Move

Atalanta manager Ivan Juric has revealed that Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman received poor advice during the summer transfer window, which contributed to his failed transfer to Inter Milan.

Juric made the disclosure in his post-match interview after Atalanta’s 3-0 Serie A victory over Torino on Sunday.

Lookman was at the centre of a transfer standoff in August when he submitted a transfer request and went absent in a bid to force a move to Inter. However, Atalanta refused to sanction the deal.

The 27-year-old, who eventually stayed at the club, featured briefly in Sunday’s game, coming off the bench in the 87th minute.

Speaking after the match, Juric said:
“He spoke to me and the team on Monday. He was surrounded by people who had given him some bad advice.

“He has a great winning mentality, and now we need to get him back in shape physically.”
