Nigerian singer, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has raised concerns among fans after disclosing that he is once again battling depression.
The Soso crooner made the revelation in a series of posts on Snapchat, where he hinted that his struggles were linked to his recording contract and issues within the music industry.
Omah Lay expressed frustration, blaming his manager and his younger self for entering into unfavorable contracts.
He wrote:
“Fk contracts. Fk labels. Fk the music business. Fk my younger self. F**k my manager. God please, I’m losing my mind again.”
The singer’s outburst comes weeks after he ended his working relationship with his manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi. While Awoniyi had suggested in a social media statement that the split was amicable, Omah Lay’s label mate, Kaestyle, claimed that Awoniyi was dismissed.
Omah Lay has previously spoken openly about his mental health. His debut album, Boy Alone, released on July 15, 2022, highlighted his experiences with depression. Days after the release, he revealed on social media that his struggles worsened following a sexual encounter with his therapist.
