Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has revealed the cultural significance behind his trademark red cap, which has become a distinctive part of his identity.
Speaking during an interview on Comfortably Speaking, the rapper explained that the cap represents a “war cap” in Igbo tradition, worn by warriors before going into battle.
He said, “This cap is a war cap. In my tribe in Nigeria, when they want to go and fight war against another clan, the warriors — all of them will wear this.”
Odumodublvck further compared the symbolism of the red cap to his experience in the music industry, describing it as a form of modern-day warfare.
“So if I enter the music industry, which is a battleground, put two and two together,” he added.
The rapper, known for his bold style and lyrical delivery, often uses cultural symbolism to express his roots and artistic identity.
