Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has admitted that his team will suffer and struggle for a while when Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo leave to represent their countries in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) later this season.
The continental tournament is scheduled to begin on December 21, 2025, and end with the final on January 18, 2026.
Mbeumo and Diallo will feature for Cameroon and Ivory Coast, respectively, during the competition. United defender Noussair Mazraoui could also be unavailable as he is expected to represent Morocco.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest, Amorim said his team was prepared for the challenge.
“We have time to suffer with that,” Amorim said. “We are going to struggle a little bit, we already knew. It is going to be an opportunity [for others] because when I watch the training, there are players that should be playing.
“But let’s use Amad and Bryan in these games and then see in January.”
