An aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly, Ado-Odo/Igbesa State Constituency, Sunmola Adijat Olashile, has revealed her motivation for seeking a seat in the state legislature, stating that her ambition is driven by a commitment to gender equity, community development, and purposeful representation.
Sunmola, popularly known as Deejah from Ejila Awori Ward, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The female aspirant who is also a member of All Progressives Congress (APC) said her decision to contest is rooted in the need for a more inclusive legislative system where women participate actively in shaping policies and driving development.
She noted that women bear a significant portion of societal responsibilities and should therefore be given equal opportunities to serve and influence governance.
According to her, if elected, she will focus on empowering women, widows, youths, and vulnerable groups through targeted initiatives that will enhance skills development, financial independence, and social support.
She hinted that her grassroots connection gives her first-hand understanding of the challenges facing the constituency.
Olashile also pledged to prioritize infrastructure development, quality education, accessible healthcare, and improved welfare for artisans and small business owners, adding that she intends to work with relevant stakeholders to attract projects that will boost economic growth within the constituency.
She therefore assured constituents of accountable, transparent, and responsive representation, stating that the people of Ado-Odo/Igbesa deserve a voice that genuinely reflects their concerns and aspirations
“As a woman, I bring compassion, integrity, and dedication to the table. My goal is to champion policies that uplift families, strengthen our communities, and ensure that no group is left behind. Ado-Odo/Igbesa needs a representative who listens, understands, and delivers, and I am prepared to serve,” she said.
